Shipping and delivery policy

PLEASE READ THIS SHIPPING POLICY  CAREFULLY  BEFORE PURCHASING.

We  do our best to ensure our customers a flawless transaction every step of the way, from the time you order to the time you received your product.

We make sure all of our iron doors are protected and free from damage.  We take extra precaution to inspect each product prior to shipment. We make sure to carefully package the products with protective materials in order to avoid any possible damages during delivery. All iron doors and windows are packaged securely in a wooden crate that has been covered with multiple padding to ensure the protection of your door. The padding will prevent movement and protect against scratches  and blemishes. We are not liable for any damages that occur during, upon or after delivery.

Shipping fees are determined by the weight and size of your item, along with the destination. Truck deliveries will be shipped via common carrier. A quote for shipping fees will be provided with pleasure  upon your request. All we need to provide you with a quote is the shipping zip code along with a list of products you are looking to order. At General Iron Doors we do everything in our power to ensure that we deliver your products in the shortest time and at the best rate available.

Once the shipping process is intitled, you will be contacted 1 to 2 days before actual delivery date and time in order to set up and confirm delivery. A tracking number and any other delivery information will be given to you once your order ships from General Iron Doors. Scheduling the date and time of delivery is based on your convenience.  Normal delivery hours for large item shipping are from 8 am to 5 pm local time. Please expect a transit time of 5 to 10 business days when your product is being shipped via truck delivery. This approximate transit time is based on the location and condition of the delivery. In some cases we need additional transit time.

We request our shipping company that all of our doors are delivered with LIFT GATE ON THE CURBSIDE ONLY, which will ensure the doors are safely lowered to ground-level upon delivery. Please remember that these are heavy doors that need two or more people to move it.  It is the customer’s responsibility to bring the door to a place to store your iron doors. The most the shipping company can do is deliver your doors /windows/ to the end of your driveway.

Before signing the shipping company’s bill of lading, please check whether the crate has been damaged during shipping process. Do not accept the product from the shipping company until you have thoroughly checked the product packaging for any damages. The damage that is caused by shipment needs to be immediately reported and notated on the bill of lading, looking specifically for damage that could have occurred due to a freight accident or mishandling of the packages during delivery as the shipping company will be held liable for said damages. Note any damages to the packaging, if possible take pictures to support claims as the shipping company cannot stay during the actual unpacking process. The consignee should inspect the freight for damages and record any obvious damage to the crate upon delivery. Under California rules, the consignee does not have the right to open and inspect  the shipping containers prior to signing for the freight. If the condition of the shipping package is such that there is good reason to suspect major damage, please do not open the freight package and refuse the shipment. Contact General Iron Doors immediately and report refusal. Please note, by refusing the shipment, you will most likely wait anywhere from 2-4 weeks to get resolution. When damage is discovered after delivery, it should be reported to General Iron Doors immediately.

Make sure you finalized the delivery address so that there will be no delays or issues  in the delivery of your order. If the delivery address is inaccessible or invalid, customer agrees to pay the purchase order amount and the additional delivery charges. We strongly advise against picking up the order from the freight companys terminal or any location other than the delivery address, since General Iron Doors will not be liable for any damages.

Consignee must report any damage marks on container to the carrier during delivery to be considered for a claim resolution. Failing to do so will result in an unrewarded claim. The carrier and General Iron Doors are not responsible for any un-reported claim.

General Iron Doors assumes no responsibility or liability for damages to the product and/or personal injury to an individual  or any other issue may arise from the delivery process.

It is important to note that customer does not have to pay any amount to the delivery personnel at the time of delivery or at any other time. General Iron doors is responsible for making direct payments to the shipping and delivery vendors. Any and all payments made by the customer to the carrier company or its representatives, for any additional or existing services, will be at the customers sole discretion and cost.
